Mondegreens

Reading this post brought me back to Switzerland and Bernafon's 2009 IDF.

During the IDF, Tom Scheller gave an outstanding presentation on Bernafon's ChannelFreeTM technology and how it is used in hearing aids to help amplify phonemes (the smallest unit of speech) so that listeners can understand even the softest utterances and thus avoid misunderstandings.

To illustrate his point, he took examples from music, such as "baking carrot biscuits" instead of "taking care of business" and the classic "she's got a chicken to ride" instead of "she's got a ticket to ride."

My personal favorite mondegreen is from Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit," I pretty much knew they wouldn't be singing "Remember what the doorman says" but I really had no clue what they were saying!
